"Chicken Shit." by Mike Pitzer
I call this painting “Chicken Shit” because I didn’t have the balls to jump in and pursuit my art career while attending ArtCenter College of Design. I liked money and the idea of being a starving artist didn’t set well with me so I became an advertising Art Director.
I struggled with passion and pride. Passion for creating art and pride over the results of what I’ve created. And is one emotion bringing me more pleasure? The paint surface, between left and right, is cracking symbolizing being pulled between these two powerful emotions.
