Cut-Paper Model Study No.4
I was fascinated by the work of Patrick Nagel and Dennis Muki when I was a student at ArtCenter College of Design. I think it was about my 5th term when I started dating this beautiful, talented illustrator I’d met at one of those amazing ArtCenter Holloween parties. We were pretty much together for the next 5 years. I did this paper cut of her a year or so after we broke up. This is how I remember her. Although she was much prettier than I could ever hope to capture on paper.
Thanks to a great business connection with the local Canson Paper rep, I was able to score an assortment of 30″ x 40″ sample packs with 6 sheets each of their Mi-Teintes paper. My model paper-cut drawings were the result.
